The renowned publisher has welcomed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to oversee the studio crew at 31st Union, which is currently working on the anticipated third-person action-packed title known as this innovative game.
Management Shift Comes After Poor Response
Brinkman takes on the role of studio head at 31st Union following the departure of former leader Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' lackluster early showing last fall.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive a key figure notified team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which highlighted that playtesting had revealed the requirement for a clearer direction.
The president stated that the developers is now overhauling Project Ethos with a revised vision, aiming to address gamer demands.
Trend of Key Recruitment
This announcement mirrors a comparable step taken by the publisher in August, when they hired Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to contribute to the BioShock development group.
Below is the full message from the president's announcement:
Dear Team—
I know you all just completed your gathering - I trust you’re as excited as I am with the recent updates. Previously I sent you all a message, I stated the following: “I am confident in this team. You all are some of the most driven and creative developers we have had the chance to work with - and we’re excited for that partnership to endure.”
Through your commitment and adaptability, particularly over the past twelve months, you consistently demonstrate that.
The gamer responses from last fall’s Project ETHOS testing phase was informative. It validated the potential of a roguelike shooter but indicated we still had improvements to make. It revealed the need for a more distinct identity.
It has been motivating to see how far you’ve progressed. You accepted the input to consideration and revamped Project ETHOS with a refreshed vision - one that’s ready to fulfill its promise to our players.
The belief in Project ETHOS increases every day. To boost the remarkable advancement you’ve made, I am thrilled to introduce the new hire as the incoming Studio Head of the team. Following several months of talks, Ben starts with us on Monday, October 20.
Ben’s leadership and background in the competitive gaming field is vast, having spent the last 15 years producing and managing some of the most recognizable titles in gaming, for example Call of Duty: Black Ops, and more recently, the battle royale hit.
I invite you all in receiving Ben next week. We are all excited to keep seeing the evolution of the game in the weeks to ahead.
David

Or take a risk, gamble everything, and pray your squad can achieve the highest spot? The decision is in your hands."
Project Ethos does not have an official debut schedule or consoles, but enthusiasts can look forward to more updates as creation progresses.
